Case Study: Road Map

Case Study: Road Map – Electronic Equipment Manufacturer

The Client

A small electronic equipment manufacturing company partnership was operating from a small plant in Richmond BC, supplying electronic control equipment nationally to public and private clients. Highly technological products provided a tremendous opportunity for growth. However, the partners weren’t working in harmony and this prevented a strategic growth. Like the majority of small businesses the profit potential was not realised and the market remained untapped.

The Barrier

Under the circumstances the business had several issues resulting in poor productivity and market penetration and required a business analysis to identify “bottlenecks” throughout the business operations, and the implementation of solutions to overcome the business malfunction.

The Method

A thorough business analysis was carried out encompassing financial and organization management, senior management/partners and employee interactions. Through a series of teaching and coaching sessions BMF Consultants identified “bottlenecks” and articulated a strategic road map for the business strategic growth.

BMF Consultants focused on:

  • Identifying the partners’ issues and defining guiding principals for managing the business systematically.
  • Total organization restructuring with minimum interruption in day to day business activities.
  • Implementing financial and organizational planning and management tools and an adaptation strategy within the business.
  • Providing systematic and ongoing support services in realising the businesses Return On Investment (ROI) of the consulting fees.

The Outcome

BMF Consultants delivered on their promise and developed a functionally organised foundation for the business. Over the past five years the business has grown 200 %. After strategically wining the recent recession battle, employees now enjoy coming to work. We share in the joy of making a good business great.
